Dear Sir/Madam:
The Center on Democracy, Development, and the Rule of Law (CDDRL) at Stanford University, California, is delighted to announce the fourth annual Stanford Summer Fellows on Democracy and Development Program for mid-career policy makers and civic activists. As a representative of the U.S. Department of State, you have immediate contact with public and private institutions abroad, which work in the field of development and are in a unique position to help us reach potential participants in the Program.
We would greatly appreciate if you could help us spread the word for applications to our program. The program brings together a group of approximately 30 civic, political, and economic leaders from transition countries such as Iraq, Afghanistan, Iran, Pakistan, China, and Russia. Stanford Summer Fellows are former prime ministers and presidential advisers, senators and attorney generals, journalists and civic activists, academics and members of the international development community. Since the program was introduced in 2005, we have typically received more than 800 applications each year.Applicants should go to: http://cddrl.stanford.edu/fellowships/summerfellows/ or click on the program announcement below for more detailed information.Thank you for joining us in the mission to further knowledge and democratic empowerment in the places where they are most needed and deserved.Regards,
Audrey McGowan
